Hahaha Malaysia .... all art shops are only selling 5mm Depron or those beaded compress foam. Factories are selling them as in boxes instead of pieces.

The extruded foam that we like might be available from refrigeration companies...the kind that might install a walk-in freezer for a resturant. The terms "extruded polystyrene" or "rigid insulation foam" might help. Good luck.

Try a local search for Isoboard (the DOW product name), you could also try insulators, concreters or builders (it's used as insulation underneath concrete slabs as well) or try contacting DOW directly to see if they have local distributors.

art supply stores are another place to try.

if you are going to hotwire cut the wing, i think you need it about 1" thick (around 25mm).

good luck!

Well there's no luck from the local stationary shop, they only have those cheap compress beaded foam .... the only one i can find is beaded but much more denser :P ..... is there any way i can fill the imperfection of the surface after cutting ? What i have is light weight similar to the balsa filler. Should i mix it with epoxy ?

I'm planning fill those rough surfaces, sand it and do wet layup.

Beaded foam cores will likely fail early and be rather difficult to repair in a DLG wing. They crumble. I'd recommend to keep searching.

As above try Dow first. Then try these local guys http://www.yeehup.com/products/ as they seem to do both expanded and extruded polystyrene foams. Local surfing guys would know where to go for foam as well....
