Is it safe to use a 2.4 GHZ Wireless video transmitter on Spektrum DSM2 2.4 ?

Is it safe to use a 2.4 GHZ Wireless video transmitter on Spektrum DSM2 2.4 ?

I plan to use a 2.4 GHZ Wireless Video Transmitter on Spektrum DSM2 , it works perfectly on the ground. to make sure that the Spektrum do not use the same frequency as the 2.4 GHZ Video transmitter, I first turn-on the Video transmitter, before turning on the Spektrum Radio.

I plan to installed a 2.4 GHZ Video Transmitter on my 500 size Electric Helicopter.

I know it will works, but I am hesitate to use it.

It should be safe provided you start the spektrum tx after the video transmitter. Have you tried range checking the spektrum tx with the video tx on? I'd give that a try before the flight. I've never seem someone use a video tx at my club, so I don't have any personal experience. I'd try a beater plane first though- just to be safe.

It's not that simple. A strong signal from video Tx will most probably block an input circuit of an RC receiver and that is an end of a story. Even 1.2GHz Tx or rather it's 2nd harmonic does it.

Not really the best way to use video and 2.4Ghz control. I would suggest a 5.8Ghz or 900Mhz video system, and even then you may get poor performance in the control system. One of the biggest factors is how tightly the video output is filtered for harmonics, most of the affordable stuff is so poorly filtered that 5.8Ghz would be nearly as bad as 2.4Ghz.

Why is that? By definition, harmonics are multiples of the fundamental frequency, not divisions.

In any event, the OP ought to take a look at the Aerial Photography forum - perhaps post there.

Trust me, noise spurs go both directions. Twice and half need aggressive filtering
