Yipee! I had Richard look at my engine/clutch hub assembly yesterday. He thought there was just a little bit of a bur on the engine's shaft. He took a file to it and low and behold the hub slid quite nicely onto the engine. Yea! With that out of the way, I got more of the build done last evening.
Here are the engine, clutch hub and clutch parts.
The clutch hub is now installed.
The clutch is now installed.
Engine fan shroud parts. Should have included the engine mount in this pic as well.
Left fan shroud and hex mounting posts.
Hex mounting posts installed.
Engine and engine mount parts.
Engine installed on mount.
Engine and fan shroud parts.
Engine installed in fan shoud.
Engine assembly and frames.
Engine assembly loosely installed in frames.
Engine assembly mounting screws.
Engine mount mounting screws installed.
Fan shroud mounting screws installed.
Hard to tell, but I installed the engine mount incorrectly. There are mounting holes on the engine mount for the bottom frame plate. I didn't realize it until I tried to install the bottom frame plate. I had to remove the engine assembly from the frames to install the engine mount correctly and put everything back in the frames again. Sorry, no pics of the correctly installed engine assembly. It was getting late, at that point, and I totally spaced taking pics of the frame plate and landing gear installation. Here's a couple pics with the bottom plate and landing gear installed.
A view from the left.
A view from the right.
Only the head, main shaft and main gear left to install. After that, there's a big loctite project as nothing has any loctite on it yet, then it's on to the electronics.

Looking good Phil!, can't wait to hear how she flies.
I met Mike out at the field and got to see the Goblin in action, man what a sweet setup that is. I also pulled out the old Raptor and put a flight on to show Mike what the tail was doing. He thinks it could be binding in the linkage somewhere, after lubing that up I went to take off and had no tail control . Luckily I found that out on the ground, so no damage. Had drained the flight pack .
Just took a look at the Gaui NX4 and ... I want one, but I want a lot of things haha.
Also intrigued by this one : http://yardbirdhelicopters.com/products/
