Mike,

Did you have trouble getting the clutch hub installed on the engine when you built your velocity? There is no way the hub is going on my engine. The hub's hole for the engine's shaft is just too small.

Nope, mine all matched up the same.

I did have a hard time tightening the bell housing on the shaft with the motor wanting to keep turning over, but they have a special took for that you can get to hold the piston in place without damaging it.

Maybe you need a different sized motor shaft for your motor?

hey phil, why don't you post some pics of your clutch hub and engine just to get a better idea of your problem.
I had a problem one time where my hub has hitting on the bottom part of my clutch buy i fix the problem taking one of the washers off in the motor shaft.
Or your problem is with the hub been smaller than your engines shaft???? What engine are you installing?

Eek! I see RC People!
So here are some pics of this part of the build and the issues I'm having. Before I show them, here is the link to the manual. Goto page 12 and in the lower right is the clutch hub and fan assembly instructions.

Clutch, clutch hub and fan parts.

Clutch hub and fan parts.

Fan installed on clutch hub.

In the final picture you can see the part of the hub that is facing the engine. It is the inner hole that is too small. The threaded portion of the shaft fits the hole, but the solid portion does not fit it. The hole and the engine's shaft are both 6.35 mm in diameter. Someone on helifreak suggested heating the hub before installing it on the engine. However, I can't see how I'm going to keep the fan from melting.
