It was just a joke on the fact that he's always talking about hover catches.

On the "How far we've come!" discussion...although interested in RC flying since childhood, I didn't start until 2008.
I still have and fly my original V1 Vapor and Micro Citabria (it's still stock with its own tx). Flew my buddy's UM Su-26m and got the Su-26 XP when it first came out,...still flying it and loving it! Moved up from the first FM 27 and 72 MHz tx's to DX5, DX7, and several years ago, the DX9. Converted my Super Decathlon "Old Yeller" over to 2.4G some years ago and still fly it, and converted my original V1 Hobbyzone Super Cub over to 2.4G just last week. Still flying the F4U Corsair "Marines Dream" and V1 T-28. Got both in 2009 and converted both to 2.4G some years ago. It's great fun and nostalgic flying those old birds with my DX9...right along side the Beast 3D, Yak 54, Ultimate Biplane, Carbon Cub, Icon A5 UMX, Whipit DLG, V1 Radian, F-27Q Stryker, UMX F4 Wildcat, F4 Wildcat parkflyer, and P-47 (green) parkflyer! These unbelievable variations in flying experiences can now be had easily...and on the same trip to the flying field! ** What changes and improvements we've seen over the last 8 years! Awesome! Can't wait to see what the next 8 years will bring! ** Tom |

In other words: I have two kids age 5 or under, stink at repairs and builds, and my only real chance to fly is either on my lunch break or walking out my front door. |

In other words...you also chose planes that suit your flying conditions and time alottment. It's great we all even have choices at all. Not too long ago it was either a big nitro plane or nuthin'

Hugo,
The largest plane I have would be the Ka8 Sailplane (@89" wingspan)...followed closely by the V1 Radian (@79" wingspan). My largest standard powered planes would be the Hobbyzone Super Cub (@48" wingspan), and a balsa Mini Pulse XT and parkflyer warbirds P-47, T-28, and F4U Corsair. They all have 42-44" wingspans, as you would know. The Ultimate 2 bipe is impressively large, too, even though its wingspan is a bit smaller at @37". Tom |

Yup. I like variety when I go flying.
I've got a buddy who designs, builds, and flies RC sailplanes. He has a couple of powered planes, and loves filming mine when we fly together. But 98% of his flying is with his beloved sailplanes. Works for him. It's whatever makes ya happy! Tom |

Beast Hog & Lover! Ten. 2) UMX V1 8) UMX 3D I couldn't be happier about it! None are for sale. The Beast addiction hit over 6 years ago. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=336 I try my best to get in at least 10 Beast flights per week. My back-up parts collection continues. This was an awesome recent find! http://www.ebay.com/itm/132203556497...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Roger |
