home made rudder

some photo's of my home made (please don't laugh to hard) rudder

as i dont have the real tools to do the job (all had to do it was a drill, hacksaw and some files) i take what i have laying around in the cupboard and modify to make it work, i apologiose about the quality of the photo's, will be putting on my hydro for a more stream lined rudder

and here it is installed on the hydro

Looks damn fine to me pal.
Done a couple myself & I know it's no laughing matter. Took the skin off two knuckles on the edge of the vice. Lots of claret everywhere. It was a crying matter for me.

thanks guy's, as i said, just wanted something more streamlined and it's a bit longer than the original one, also put my original turn fin back on as the larger one was causing drag and to much water spray

i know how you feel paul with the scrapped knuckle's, i have managed to drill into my thumb and first 2 fingers on the same bloody hand before, plus stabbed the same hand while cutting rubber, god the accidents i've had i'm suprised i'm not dead

yes its lighter now, trying to keep as much weight of the back as i can

had to modify the blade swivel a bit, turned it the other way up as the whole thing was sitting below the water line and had to cut a notch in the blade itself so it could move left and right
