I've been flying all kinds of planes for about 5 years now, and I have been very interested in getting into FPV for the past 2. But it's hard to get straight forward answers, especially when it comes to the Video transmitters.
Here is what I have so far (some ordered, some being ordered soon):

Plane - Skywalker 168 cm EPO from BevRC with all Digital servos, and a power system from innov8tivedesigns

Head Tracker - I will be starting off in FPV using my existing Futaba 6EXA transmitter, so I bought a DT-3K Hybrid Headtracker from Flytron

Camera - DPC-480A OSD Camera (NTSC) from BevRC (ordered)

Video TX/RX - 900MHz 500mW Aerial Video System from RangeVideo

OSD - RangeVideo OSD with GPS and IR Stabilization Sensors, for return to home function.

Video Goggles - Fatshark RCV922 BASE Edition.

An RV-Splitter 4-way Composite Video Distribution Amplifier from RangeVideo

Video recording - BEV Piano HDD-DVR from BevRC.

Only things I need now are a top notch pan/tilt system that will support my camera and would work with the Skywalker, a place to get those ferrite rings and figure out how to make a good antenna for the video TX.
Welcome aboard, wow, your post sounds like my Christmas wish list! Please share your findings as you start to assemble all those goodies.

I ordered a pan and tilt kit from "BlueskyRC" last night. I've convinced myself to start out with the slow stick.

BTW, the slow stick's landing gear will need to be beefed up, what's the best DIY solution?

My video gear from Hobby City arrived today, too bad someone wasn't home to sign for it. 8^(

My wife will pick it up tomorrow. Took 16 days to get here from when I ordered.

Had an chance to fly the NexStar again today, had very nice weather this time. I added the training gizmos to the wing and it made quite a bit of difference in the way it flew. Certainly slowed it down, made more lift and made the elevator more effective. I posted a bit of video to give an idea of the speed in the air and during landing approach.

one giant leap, for a FPV Noobie

It works!

Lucky for me I had all the needed connectors to get it up and running.
I'm running both units on a 3S-2000 (ish) lipo. Let it run for about 15 minutes, both units warm to the touch but not hot. I don't have any way to record the transmission (yet) (what say you Matt Halton, got easycap working?) Thanks to the guys on the HK FPV thread for helping me with the connector to the receiver. couple of photos of the DVD player, FPV camera in my backyard. Fairly low light out there.

Art, I just noticed this thread and your question here.

If the Millennium RC gear don't work out for you.... (they didn't for me on my VERY heavy FPV SS, 42 oz.)

I have a few links that you may want to look at....

The above links are all from the same thread.... just to save you from reading thru a bunch of "other stuff" in that thread....

The transmitter says 8 channel, but only cycles through 0-3, the receiver says 12 channel and cycles through 0-9, the H,C,and A.
What all that means? I have no idea.
