CG - have you tried this site? Their prices seem good and they ship to Canada. I'm thinking about picking up a Sony Bloggie from these guys, 1/2 the price of up here and it's also a better model.

Just ordered the Tricopter frame from blueskyRC. Will order the electronics from HK tonight (motors and esc, and props). Planning on using the Wiicopter controller. More reading to go through.

CG, I just got my frame from BlueSky...nice kit. Are you gonna' be using aluminum arms or wood?

I found 3/8"sq. wood at home depot but I'm having a heck of a time finding the aluminum. Any suggestions?

LOL ! I was just gloing to look for that when I saw your post. I have been told that aluminum is a pain because when you crash. the arms will bend and you will have to change them and it can be costly (don't know about that, didn't find anything yet). I'll let you know, have you seen the tread about the tri here on RCG ?

What control board are you buying ? Motors, esc ?

I wouldn't use Aluminum or CF if you are going to use it for FPV.

I'll probably get one of the tri's from Bluesky too. I know they make fiberglass fuses for the slow stick, that might make a good arms?

Sure would, but I don't see any from their site. How about laminated lite ply arms ? Could drill them to lighten them out ?

Now that I think about it, slow sticks have an aluminum fuse available as well.

Well in actuality, I'm in the process of building two (if I ever receive the parts)...one will be used for FPV/video made out of that 'garolite' stuff/wood arms and the other, for just bangin' around, is the one I'm looking to use the aluminum arms on.

Let's keep in mind, I'm an airplane guy with moderate heli experience so I've gotta' do a little LOS practicing before I go strappin' on any shtinkin' goggles.

For the controller, I've got my eye out for the MWC Paris v4.0 and a KK+ on backorder.

The rest of the stuff is from Hobby King and also on backorder...of course

Just finished hooking the DL to DX7. Going to try and bind it...

EDIT: Hourra ! Ça marche ! DL binded with succes and working. And I can switch from 2,4 Ghz and LRS with the same transmitter. DL velcroed to the back of DX7 so I can remove it when going to funflies. I'll just have to hide the wires so they are not scared of my radio

Now I have to do a range test at the field and make a couple of flight LOS to test the system. And then, I'll go see if I can fly over the farm near the club field, and then...well, lets begin with the farm
