International Zionist Association: Minutes from the first three meetings

We finally held our first International Zionist Association meetings in July 2010, and for anyone interested, we are willing to be open and honest about our intentions.

Meetings consisted of only 2 members, that’s all we have in our group, Up&Away (Israel) and Michael in Toronto (Canada)

The first meeting took place in an office in Tel Aviv. Serious and intense discussion focused mainly on the control linkages in model gliders and how crashes can result from faulty hardware.

The second meeting took place at a boardwalk restaurant in Tel Aviv, Israel, where we drank beer and ate deserts. Discussion covered a range of topics, mostly radio control models.

The third meeting took place over a wonderful dinner that started with wine and bread, and then chopped liver and chopped egg, followed by roasted chicken and potatoes, with a variety of vegetables. There were delicious blocks of ice cream covered in bitter-sweet chocolate for desert. The food was great, and discussion focused on funny family stories.

So, if anyone has any questions about Zionism, radio control models, food, or any combination of these, we’ll be happy to answer to the best of our ability.

Rene's house.

Great restaurants in Tel Aviv:

Dabush for shwarma.
La Lasagna (on Disengoff) for pasta.
Amazing hamburger at the Hilton Hotel on the beach.

Way to go guys. Keep it up and some might even consider Zionists to be human.

Of course others will still be as hateful as ever.

Cheers!

Nice looking airplane - male models - not so much

I enjoyed my visits to Israel while in the Navy. Bicycled from Haifa to Nazareth, where me and my buds had lunch.

There is a switchback road out of the south-east of Nazareth that is a killer descent - I maxed out my cycle computer which was something like 52 mph at the time. I could smell my brakes.

It was too hot for me to go flying.

I did go to the Air Force Museum - that was fantastic!

Mustangs, Spitfires, Catalina, DC3, Mirages, etc., etc.
