Yippee!

Flew my Kyosho BF-109E for the first time today


Short flight. She felt a bit tail heavy, so I'm going to tweak the CG a bit. Plenty of power. Nosed over the landing... need to practice my warbird flying a bit.

Reaper GR60 motor, MAS 13x8 3 blade prop. 85 AMP ESC. 4S 4500 mAh lipo pack.

I want this plane too, but I too, fly off grass. If it's nosing-over and it's tail heavy, that doesn't bode well....

Well I'm clearly warbird challenged. The BF-109E is no more. Tipstalled it into a spin and slammed it nose first into the ground...

I'm going back to simple aerobatic planes... lower wing loading.

Now that is a real shame. But I guess I know what it feels like well enough....

What do you suggest the CoG be set at, good sir?


Did you ever get it to land without nosing over?

I only use a few millimeters of elevator when flying warbirds. I've lost a plane or 2 with too much elevator on a warbird.

I had the CG a couple of mm in front of the recommended range.

I chalk it up to just not being really ready for warbirds. I'm going to practice, a lot, with my other planes before trying another warbird. I had problems with my VQ AT-6 as well.

Both planes flew fine, but my skills are just not high enough.
