Almost all of them will have this "feature":

Quote:
8. Video signal disappear, display blue screen
It gets in the way of some FPV usage, because it can take a few frames to get your picture back if just one frame of video was corrupted by interference. One tenth of a second never felt so long...

That said, another source for these screens is as the second screen in a two-screen DVD player setup, common for putting in back seats of cars. Might be cheaper for you, even with the extra DVD player you didn't think you wanted.

on that website that TerrorTrooper posted up above,
will these screens go to "blue screen/black out" if there is a
momentary loss of video transmission?

I've searched all the threads and seem that I cant find one that wont
negates' this (8. Video signal disappear, display blue screen)

can someone post a Link thats will give me the best screens to hook
up to our Vid Rx ?

Thanks.... ;-)

i read somewhere about someone using a screen with a VGA input and using a powered RCA to VGA adapter.

This way the screen stayed on even under static conditions.

Out of the way, Peck!
Recently bought two of these, one went to a security customer as their office DVR monitor, plan on using the other one in a headrig for FPV. I believe it can be set to no-blue-screen if video lost. Amazon has it cheaper than i paid.

Hi,

I use a 12v 15" LCD computer monitor with an expensive Video converter. I use this video converter because It has the option to turn off the blue screen of death, so when video signal gets low it goes just snowy.

Nah I just picked it up at Jaycars for $109, I had ordered one on ebay but It took ages to turn up so I went and got one from jaycar instead. Typically it turned up the next day .

Heres some Info;

Its a Digitech Component video to VGA converter

item code is XC-4873.

I just Did a quick google and It shows up so if your interested have a look.

I will check out the ebay one now and see if it can turn off blue screen of death.

Ok,

Ebay one doesnt work, as soon as signal drops out "blue screen", glad I brought the jaycar. I used It last weekend with my tricopter and It worked a treat. Great on 15" screen!

Hope this helps

Remember Minimum Resolution

I'm a newbie here, but it's probably worth mentioning that many OSD systems want a minimum resolution of 480 by 640 (as you search through monitor specs). --Jim

rclab1,

Im not shure on the "TV" side of things with the blue screen of death.

What I have is VRX-> rca (COMPOSITE) to VGA video signal converter (type in post above) -> second hand 12v lcd computer monitor.

Kev,

Approx a month from order I think, Your best of pm'ing Mike and he will get tracking Info for you.

Jim, The converter does a wide variety of resolutions. It says 800x600 but not 100% shure.

Regards

Doug
