If you run low on MAh in a 4-5 min race with a 40C 5000mah then something is wrong.

Your pack is dying or your not running the right gearing.

And that is a big heavy pack to race with BUT I havent been racing for long time and that was before lipos.

How are you charging you lipo - what charger, what brand lipo? Somethings not right, poss you not charging your lipo completely?

I don't race, but use a 35C 5000mah 2S lipo in my Slash and I can bash for 20-25min easy.

they should take like 50 minutes, just get 2 more lipo's and you'll be set. even then, at my local track i have time to charge a 5000mah 20 2s lipo between heats, and it takes mine about an hour to charge. also, you shouldn't need that much of a c rating with a 5000mah, i'd go with a 30c instead.

It takes me about that long, prob a little less since I don't run down to the lvc, I stop running as soon as I see it start to slow down. I usually see 3500-3800mah go back into the lipo on charge. Prob 40-45min. Basically same as you're seeing.

I understand better now - you're trying to makes all the races on one lipo, thats why you're running out. If your charger has a FAST charge mode for lipos, try using that. That should cut charging time by almost half.

Prob best to get one more lipo at least.

yeah, definetly get 2 lipo's for racing, it's a bad idea not to. i usually make 2 heats on one battery before lvc will hit in a race, so you need at least 2 batteries. i have had lvc hit in a race to, did a pit stop and still won(very little competition.)
