Devo 10 is good TX. D01 is a good heli. I have Devo 8s with touch screen.

Finally got to maiden my d01. Only some hovering and simple circuits but it feels NICE!! (better than my 180cfx maiden which resulted in a death roll seconds after takeoff) (disclaimer: 180 cfx was used as well but I thought I had it sorted)

All I can say is D01 V2 has been outstanding sport heli.

Can anybody give me a lead on canopy grommets?

They are smaller then most 450 helis. Odd size and last ones I received were from a friend.

Not so much about the V450D01 but flying in general.

I've been worried about my Devo 10 ageing. The battery door is broken and held by tape, the antenna to the CC2500 is loose and it's now 4 years old. So the concern I have is - with Walkera seems to be moving more into the tx with fpv screen and away from the 7e / 10 / 12 how much longer will Deviationtx capable tx be around. Currently my Devo 10 has 46 models on it.

Late last year I picked up a Turnigy 9XR Pro and the 4 in 1 module and it works remarkably well. Not as easy to use as Deviationtx but not too difficult either.

Last night I ordered the new FrSky QX7 with plans to use the 4 in 1 module with it as well. The QX7 will be my backup to the Devo 10 and the 9XR Pro will also be a backup tx. That'll give me 3 good tx to use that will fly 99% of all my fleet.

Most of my stuff is dated but works fine. I bought T9x awhile back and now sits in a box. The newer Turnigy RX's will not work with older version of fly sky. I used it for older then new WL toys stuff before they changed to different protocols. Devo 8s for WK/ DX6i for Spectrum.

Hard to post now things changed so much. Quad thing is gone full blown and shows no sign of let up. Push button flying with little to no skill required.

Dammit.....HK have just had a sale....now I have 2 9XR Pro tx on the way. 1 will be a present for Dad with a multimodule. At $60AUD (about $45USD) it was hard to say no.

Been raining all week so maintenance time on the D01. Motor bearings, main shaft bearings etc lubed. Blades had a few nicks and bumps on them so new WK blades fitted. Did the tail blades as well. Keep the olds as spares. Checked the swash, travel and pitch / cyclic. All sorted and ready to fly.

I have new project fixed wing almost ready to go. Then make up a few new batteries for both DD's. This should give me stuff for local park all summer long.
Schools also close soon next month and make more sites available.

I'm currently working on the acquisition of a V500! Can't wait as I've wanted one for ages!

My D01 is easily my most flown bird - and still not needing any replacement parts. Must be getting close tho lol
