An antenna that is not matched well will cause the Tx to run warm/hot. You can get a SMA dummy load that will plug into the Tx antenna slot. If the TX then under the same voltage runs cooler then it is indeed the antenna. Measuring the current draw will also be a good test but a bit more difficult.

Antennas are fickle. Using my wattmeter I found that on my Alex design "V" for 900mhz that just moving the coax at the base of the V changes the efficiency very noticeably. I did not realize how critical this was. Just as a note for 900mhz users. I tested 3 TX's of the cheap Chinese types rated at 500mw and all exceeded that output.

Good thought but I checked all the solder connections and they were all good.

does the sunsky receiver use a sma or rp-sma connector?

Sunsky uses a standard SMA connector on the TX and an F connector on the RX.

Hello everyone.
I got LM 1.2 1w Tx/Rx, so I try to find the optimal frequency for the video signal. For now, while testing, everything works perfectly (for testing on the bench I have a cooling fan dont worry) Now channels are configured as shown in these pictures:
I do not know what channel it is. According to the Tx it is 8th channel(all three dip switches are the right of the numbers 1 2 3) , but the RX can not be 8 channel because the AB switch in position for channels 1-4, or not?
I know this is already explained somewhere but no matter what I've read a lot of posts still do not understand in what position should be dip switches for certain channels. Can someone explain to me how to set dip switches for different channels.
Thanks

That's crazy you too!

My friend made a home V.
I looked at it close and it has a lot of solder and one pole wire is longer than the other by a small difference.

Funny, he uses the rubber ducky and it goes straight to video but he has to touch the G spot on the V with his finger for things to happen

How much more sensitive is the black lawmate receiver compared to the sunsky (FOX?) is it like -95dbi?

Difficult to say. It's more the assurance to have a good quality receiver with the saw filter mod already done.

Some Fox receivers are poorly made and give crappy results. But a good Fox Rx with saw filter mod will give the same results.

One drawback of the Lawmate Rx: not compatible with the latest IBcrazys antennas
One advantage of the lawmate: small and sma plug.
