I use the collars with set screws to hold and position the wheels. The best wheels I've found for our grass field are the wheels for the pz messerschmidt (? sp) 109. They work great.

Me too!

This Extra has grown to be my feel good plane and is the one I turn to in less than perfect conditions (aka bloomin horrid stuff that I wouldn't risk flying anything else) or when I need to cheer myself up after an incident with another plane.

A few aeros with the Extra makes me all better

It does look a bit tatty now and almost got retired. Not sure what I'll do when this finally gives up. My Edge QQ has replaced it now as my aerobatic, freestyle/mild 3D machine.

Still hopefully plenty of time left in the ol bird yet!

hey folks. the mrs is looking for ideas for my birthday at the end of this month. thinking i might ask for 300.

one thing i do need to know is how is this plane for belly landing? i have one place to fly near me but there is no chance of rog there, its grass, but way too rough...as i found out with my st model mx2. i managed hand launching and belly landing fine with that over there, but will this one fare as well? thanks.

If you read some of the earlier posts.some Exrta 300 owners did remove there landing gear ,hand launch and did belly flopped landings,
just put some fiber tape allong the bottom of the fuse to protect the foam..

Easy, the extra is much better without the lg. hand lunch - easy and the landings are no probs on a belly. Go for it, its a great trainer

So if I loose one of my planes/gliders and it's heading East I'll give you a shout ...

There ment to fly faster aswell without the drag of the undercarrage.
Think you could allso fit a folding prop/spinner,but I'm not 100% on that

One thing I do know is that fly very well once you get use to them,,, the Extra was my first plane after only ever flying gliders, I took to it straight away and even talked a friend into buying one too,now my friend and myself use our 300's for combat fun when we get bored at the club field.
Mind you we use our Radians for Combat aswell

Sean
