Absolutely! Thank you for the compliments. MoF, here is the PDF as promised.

Best to lay down 3M clear packaging tape FIRST anywhere you want to install cut vinyl, helps it stick, because it won't stick to the foam. However, the printed Oracal white vinyl does stick to the foam without clear tape. Have at it, knock yourself out!

Hi,
I'm on a second model now.

I bought spare blades as they wear very quickly

I'm going to add the other dg wings to the next model for a 3/3.5 m model

So today was the last flight of my DG-1000
Day was going great, I was flying around looking for thermals, couldnt find one so powered up and started gaining altitude and then turned around, well plane just held that turn and spiraled into the ground. motor out and running... no idea why....

Running airtronics Rx600 RX and a Sd-10g so no idea!

couldnt get it to respond to any input on the spiral down....

I got it home and hooked the battery back up after it destroyed the whole fuse.

everything functioned fine...

I am not using the RMS controller just mixes on the radio.

So I have all kinds of extra parts now

Anyone know what KV the motor is? specs etc?

Had an issue with my DG-1000 on it's maiden flight in which the retractable motor arm broke mid-flight, leaving the motor flopping around. I was able to land it safely, but now I'm faced with the task of finding a replacement arm. This must have been a factory defect, as I hadn't done anything to stress that part. The plane was in a straight and level flight when it decided to break.

Does anyone know where I can purchase this item from? Tower Hobbies, who I bought the plane from, has no spare parts listed, and even the manual doesn't have a parts list. I emailed ST-Models, but haven't heard back from them yet. They have a parts section on their site (sheng-teng.com), but you need a user name and password to be able to access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hype in Germany is the importer and sells the ST Models DG-1000.

Parts are listed through here on other German hobby sites.

At $99 EU ($135.394 USD) for just the motorsystem alone (Artikel-Nr.: 8-018-1504 ), shipping to USA will place this well over the cost of a total replacement from Tower. It's just a shame.

Another reason why I just ordered an Art-Tech ASK-21 from Hobby-Lobby = replacements parts are supported.

If it were me (I still have to maiden my DG-1000, so I could be faced with the same exact decision with much worse results ), I would remove the motorsystem and keep it as a slope sailplane.

Let us know how you get along, I'd try calling Tower Hobbies and explain your situation.

My first one had a similar defect and Tower simply replaced the entire model as a warranty claim: it "blew apart" first flight.

I bought mine at Tower and the most recent "paper" catalog shows it.

Did you try a search for "ST models?"

I've taken off a decent grass field many times without a wheel
No need for a wheel really, unless you fly off asphalt or dirt.

We were very disappointed when our DG-1000 crashed on the maiden flight last summer, too.
After a great 7 min flight, went to retract the motor system for landing (thinking that would protect it from stress) and the glider just froze. No control at all.
After considering repair options, ordered another one. Hope to fly it in the spring

Next time we will fly it with a Castle external BEC, for power to Rx and servos!
