Trappy, I am so surprised that some hidden missile battery near the statue of liberty didn't blow you out of the sky when you got close. With that said...

Congratulations! That was crazy.

Crazy video trappy, why were you in new york in the first place?
I saw your screen grab from the statue of liberty and thought nah, he will never do that.
But than I started thinking this is TRAPPY !!!!
And then I saw the vid. You are one crazy person hahha.

This was all done with the eagle tree osd of course I would think. Because that's the only osd that can give you enough information and is reliable enough.

correct hugy. We even had the RTH because of the "towers of doom". And we switched to 15.3GHz for video because - as we all know - flying on 2.4GHz even in small cities in the USA is completely impossible.

Ok, enough of the bs ... still the same setup, next time we go there we might have to switch video frequency for longer range (2 miles+) and we'll need to use a wider band for hopping on the UHF, as the Empire State Building has about 140 antennas on it, most of them transmitting broadband wifi and video (460MHz) which reduced our range a bit.

I went to NY to do FPV. Last-minute complications turned it into a "city trip" but I took the plane along nonetheless.

we made a special carton box for it, and filled it up with EPP bricks to keep the plane safe. a few "Fragile" stickers later we checked it into the check-in luggage as 2nd bag and that's it. the ground station, R/C, goggles, etc. was in the regular suitcase.

Did you have to carry them on?

No, lipos are not allowed as carry-on! you need to check them in. we called the airline prior, they said the lipos are fine as check-in - you should call them too if you want to travel with your R/C plane. they can tell you all about it.
