Any specs on the new version?
I'm still waiting to put my current pro version in my F-18. Maybe this year. Maybe not One thought I had... I have some 12s 5300 mAh packs. I'm sure they'll run the fan fine. I might even add another 2s and go 14s for it. But with that mAh do you think I'll get much more than 3 minutes? I haven't tested anything with my electrical system yet. Still building wings. One of these days I'm going to start getting serious about putting it all together though. I wonder if I ought to get more mAh. |

You get about 3 1/2 minutes with regulated throttle on 5000mAh packs, pulling 120A peak. Typically you do burner passes in front of you and only partial throttle is needed on the back side of the pattern. 6800mAh gives you close to 5 minutes with this same regulated throttle management or over 3 minutes wide open.
The new version uses a 10mm shaft instead of 8mm. This reduces the amount of 'flex' that is possible under gyroscopic loads (from high-G maneuvers), making it less likely for a rotor to 'crash' into the housing. |

Jim, do you feel the Spin200 at 15S is a reliable set up. I read were a fellow had a Spin200 catch fire in his EDF. He may have had no cooling for all I know. Just want the best ESC for your fan to run at 15S.
Thanks |

I have been running a SPIN 200 on 15S on all of my planes for years. The only issue I ever had was when I turned down the temperature limit to 100C. I was flying on a day that was about 105 degrees F. The Starfire I was flying did numerous full throttle passes. 223.9MPH was the last pass (after 4 prior passes) before the controller shut down due to reaching the temperature limit. It doesn't come back until it cools down enough. I ended up landing short of the runway on dirt, so the plane survived. After that, I put the temperature limit back to the max and have never had a problem since.

No, we still don't have the new motor design finalized yet. I have not been actively testing though because I have been busy doing other things. The fan systems have zero profit for the business, and in the past they were too heavily focused on. I changed that when I took over completely. I would like to have a fan system again, but I won't be providing something where we lose money.
