Just letting you guys know BillyD lost his F16 today. Fan and motor survived but the plane is toast.

I didn't see the plane go in just the aftermath. Billy said an up command turned into a roll to inverted then plumet to earth. The postmortum is still going on???

I spoke with Mike Donovan from Hacker at the field yesterday and he mentioned a 4000 watt continuous.
Do you have any thoughts about this?
I was going to make this update to our website.

This was the first flight after a belly in landing. Packs may have been damaged in the previous flight. The jet didnt appear to have any pep on take off.
Could have been internal damage not apparent.
Billy says a Falcon is next.

The smaller fan system will be limited to 11S when using 65C batteries. 12S appears to be fine when using older battery technology, but since all of the new technology is coming it doesn't make sense to try to hide the fact that the smaller motors are not really up to handling this type of load. Yes, they are lighter by 1 pound, but lack the raw mass to handle the load.

F-16's are notorious for tip stall, both high speed and low speed. If you pull the elevator too hard, they will immediately roll inverted. It has happened to me several times, and unless you are prepared for it happening, it will bite you! RIP the F-16.

Bummer!

Billy had dual elevator servos on this plane. Sounds like one failed.
If the elevator hit during the belly landing - it may have damaged the gears in the servo.
