I've looked in on your blog since before SRT10. I enjoyed working with Joel to get you flying at SEFF 2009 and I've been checking your blog a lot closer ever since. Stay cool and stay safe.

Yeah buddy. The big ol' SRT would have never gotten up if it hadnt been for all of you guys helping! I just wish the motors would have "acted right". Would have been much easier to get it in the air. Getting it down ended up being the easy part!

Thanks for the comments all... now, its off to work for me for the day.

Read your blog? You Bet!

We've never met and are never likely to but the truth is that I check out the site daily and ALWAYS check up on you. Stay safe, quit smoking for good (I did some 10yrs ago now and I am still proud of it) and keep up the writing.

Best wishes, David Wardle. Birmingham,UK.

Hey Laine, I read your blog every time there's a new post. Thanks for keeping us "in the loop". My daughter is an AF captain and my son a Navy ensign. I did 12 years air force myself. May God protect and keep you. -Happy landings

Old Submariner

You Bet We Read !

Hi Laine:

Just a few line to let you know this Old Submariner reads every one of your post's and have for a long time. We GREATLY appreciate what you do for us.

GO MAN GO! You and your wife quitting smoking is excellent news, and a good example for your teenagers. I have never smoked so I can only imagine what you are going thru. When I was in the boats it seemed like everyone smoked and I can tell you that being one of about 20 in a crew of 83 on a submarine we sure appreciated it when we ran on the surface (not often).

Keep up the great example and God keep you safe.

From one old Army mule to another... keep up the good work and come home safe!

Sure looks like you're making the best of the situation... I remember when I was in Iraq in '91 how desperate we were for entertainment:

"Dung beetle wrestling"... we'd toss 5-6 dung beetles in a shallow foxhole with a single piece of sheep (or camel) poo and bet on which beetle would win the prize --- they flip each other over on their backs until only one is remaining.

"Dung beetle races"... we'd draw a big circle and put several pieces of sheep poo and equal numbers of dung beetles in the center. First one to roll a piece out of the circle wins.

While I don't envy a tour of duty in Afghanistan, at least you're making better use of your time

I drop by every once in a while to see whats been going on. I have always wondered about those view numbers and if they are correct. Guess we will never know. Stay safe and out of trouble with those 540s.

WOW! Lots of comments while I was gone! Had to go fly a few Generals around Afghansitan tonight. It was a decent day. Flew with my Battalion S-3.. a Major. Good dude, and fun to fly with. All went well, and now its off to shower and do it all again tomorrow.
Keep the comments coming, and thank you to all of you who regularly stop bye! It is really blowing my mind that this many people make it a point to read my gibberish!
