Quality

I know that hobbyzone and parkzone and those companies make fanastic models. But their selection is limited. What other high quality brands are there out there?
(I would be looking for fomie rtf's or radio ready)

I've had good luck with my Horizon Hobby Blade CP.

Yes, I'll second the vote for both Multiplex and GWS, with the possible exception of the Multiplex Parkmaster. But mostly I know these two companies from their ARFs, while I know Parkzone and HobbyZone from their RTF/BnF/PnP products.

GWS airframes are mostly made from beer-cooler foam (EPS?) and certain construction details are sketchy. But they are awesome in the air.

Landings are not optional

In general, radio ready or rtf and quality don't go together. The companies you mention are some of the first to be able to deliver reliable products which is why they are so popular.(I would contest calling them high quality myself, they are generally only so-so).

I second the suggestions for Multiplex, they make very good planes in my experience.

I know they SELL other stuff just not sure why you would mention a HELICOPTER when the OP is looking for other reputable manufacturers or BRAND. Horizon is not a BRAND
Horizon dont make model they sell them.

Your Blade CP is E-flite. You should of recommended E-FLITE

But its all good were just trying to help the OP and hes getting some good ones

Horizon Hobby markets E-Flite. I'm just saying that I've had good luck with Horizon products (including E-Flite) and the service that they offer. I might also add that Horizon/E-Flite products can be found in stock at most local hobby shops.

It also depends what attributes you want. If you want to fly an acceptable aircraft with minimal fiddling around, the HH / Multiplex / Nitroplanes/ Banana Hobby type offerings are good choices. If you want to save a little money and don't mind getting a little more involved with your foamie, GWS and their kind are for you.

Alfa Model also makes a nice variety of planes but they have a reputation of being somewhat fragile. They are reputed to fly very well in most cases.

An itch?. Scratch build.

Now if only we could be issued with 'quality' thumbs and reactions, and the knowledge of how to fly from birth

Oh! and quality air conditions, quality flying sites, (ones where the trees actually step to one side, not jump in front of the model, bushes that duck, the runway compensates automatically for your height and direction for featherlight touchdowns).

Nah!, it would make model building and flying too boring.

Best quality: 3D Hobby Shop and Precision Aerobatics
Best foamies (IMHO): DWFoamies

I also like GreatPlanes for some foamies.

^^^ I'm familiar with the small and large Formosas and the GWS Texan. The small 'Mosa and Texan end up 13-17 oz. AUW and fly great on a 150W, 1000 Kv motor. 8x6 Slofly prop, 3S/1000 battery, HXT-500 servos. The big Mosa is around 30 oz AUW. I have mine seriously overpowered... 400 watts. 3S 2450 battery and 10x10 prop.
