I see the discussion on scale landing gear vs fullsize. And would like to add that the grass or concrete we fly off is fullscale..so the load from imperfections are much greater on our models.

Thanks Mike... after spending half the night looking, I did see these and ordered just the retracts from HH for $67.00. I will get oleo struts from HK to go with them.

Robarts giant Electric retracts are officially on the market; what other options are there for electric retracts for 25-30 pound planes?

Are DSR-46 from EPF worth upgrading with the metal options? I have a trike set that came in a plane off Ebay and the nose unit needs new gears from the worm gear to the linkage arm. The control unit seems to need replacement also for the UP function on the nose output is not working. The nose retracts when i plug it into one of the main outputs so it is the controller.
Has any one done these upgrades and what parts would be the most beneficial to upgrade?

Thanks w1!

After checking it out, I think I will likely just end up coughing it up and getting the Robart Electrics designed for the TF giants; it comes with everything needed but the wheels and is nearly a drop-in fit.

When I have priced out other electrics or pneumatics, I have found that what appears to be significantly less expensive, is not really that much less expensive (usually within $50) than the Robarts.

When comparing the e-Robarts to comparable electrics, I would have to buy wheels and struts for other brands. With the comparable pneumatics, I would end up spending a good bit on an air tank, fittings and valves, lines, and a pump...

It is overwhelming all the different retracts available for smaller park flyers.

I am looking for some scale looking electric tri-cycle retracts for my 70mm F-86 (just under 4 lbs.); what would you all recommend?

So many choices for this 70mm size...

I am about to drop some serious retract money down on the new giant Robart electrics for my 1/5 scale P-47; has anyone got any experience with the giant electric Robarts yet?
