My versions question was prompted by reading this thread !

Sounds like I should be ok with these helis on ebay if there is no real difference between the "A"/"B" versions I guess.
I am presuming you are in the UK since you are looking at a UK listing

Just for once the UK listing is cheaper than the Hong Kong listing, I have never seen that before

I am really tempted again to get this heli, I have sent them a message asking if they also have it in blue

Yes I'm in the UK.

Can you let me know if you get a reply from the seller as I haven't got any response to my questions from them.

Thanks

I also got a reply from electronic_kingdom saying that they didn't know a model number for it i.e. if it was a 5888-a or 5888-b !

Can someone confirm that these models are proper 4ch which allow roll right/left as well as up/down, forwards/backwards and rotate left/right please.

Thanks again in advance

I forgot to ask - has anyone found anywhere where you can get spares for the 5888 ?

Not much point in having one if you can't repair it is there ?

It's good they eventually replied to you.

There would be a major outcry here if they did not conform to 4ch standards but dwholler would be able to confirm this for you he has both colours and has posted videos of him flying them.

I don't doubt they are genuine 4ch helis and as for spares, you will find loads on this ebay page

Hope this helps you come to a decision

Yeah looks like it can roll sideways from the videos which is good.

Looks like there are spares out there albeit from China. I guess it didn't find them on ebay becuase I hadn't checked the "worldwide" box when I did a search for "5888 helicopter". You learn something every day !

Thanks for your input - I think I'm going to get one ( unless I can find a Century UK Spirit for a real knock down price ! )

Now that is an expensive helicopter
You can buy three 5888's for that price

I've done the deal with Electronic Kingdom so let's hope they deliver the goods.

Couple of confirmation e_mails from them already so at least they seem to have their act together.

re: rolls

on my finely "tuned & tracked" 5888s I can easily do 20 banked turns and circles .... also in reverse, which drives my little brain a bit crazy when avoiding obstacles as the left & rt sticks must be moved oppositely from each other.

anyway .... FUN!

Lee

b.t.w., I find the control "play" in the entire system (electronic & mechanical) to be an order of magnitude less than its own self-turbulence it flies back into or the normal room turbulence (from hot water radiators without blowers!).
