Maybe I should start saving copies of these high priced auctions so I can convince my wife how much more valuable that new kit will be when built!

Tim, I can't judge that model from the one pic, but you (and the rest of us) should stop under-valuing the work of craftsmen.

Many will say that a $200 kit, built, should not be worth more than $300... and maybe less!
Sure, a few hundred hours of labor by a hack may have little (or negative) value... but a well-constructed model should lead to the builder being rewarded with more than 50 cents on his hour.

Maybe your right Pat, but I think it comes down to what folks are willing to pay for that hard work ...

I think somebody here said "its only worth what someone will pay for it "...

Not really Tim, a couple of guys in our club built that kit in the late 1970's, and there were a bunch of them available in the hobby shops at that time, for about $55.00---.

A twin-screw boat built with a single prop---? Not so accurate, and thus not worth the asking price---.
