Had time to do a little work last night. Built all 6 rudders, 4 are 45mm long and the 2 rear are 50mm long all are 55mm tall.
Rudder shaft is 5/32 hard brass with a 1/4 and a inch strip soldered on each side. 062 styrene is bent over the shaft and strips, then clamped at each side. When dry I will add the bottom and top to the rudders. A bit of sanding and my profile rudders will be ready for paint.

Springer in Cartegena - Colombia

Hi Gill,

I am presently on assignment in Cartegena, Colombia for my company and spotted this little tug working on the harbour.

Thought you might be interested to see it.

Nice Thanks.
I'm finding this to be a fun build as the door is wide open. It seems that the builders will change these and make them any way you what.
So I'm going you the big motors, kort nozzels, twin throttles, 6 rudders, and lever steering with twist grip engine control. (full inter. in the pilot house)

Tico, thanx for the pic. Haven't been there for several years---.

Cartegena has a very interesting harbor, in that the Colombian Navy is based there, and it is a destination for cruise ships.

Tell me, are the streets still patrolled by soldiers armed with automatic weapons?

And can you still get an evening party cruise on a 'Chiva" bus---?

Have been working with the Coast Guard guys and spend a great day running around the harbour in one of their very.......fast boats. Good fun.

Not too many armed military personnel in the streets, but we had armed marines on the CCG boat all day.

Will check out the "bus" tomorrow night

great looking build Gill. Here is an idea for a accessory. One of our guys bought a RC tractor trailer rig at a truckstop in Ill. for $89. He made the flat bed. We saw it for the first time today at our Kohler show.
