Tech,
I just had an extraction, total cost $880, ins paid $63, I paid the rest. Even under my old Co. plan I would have paid at least 40%.

Ins is such a scam when this happens, oh, and I pay $47/mo. to get this GREAT coverage! It does pay 100% of Cleaning, Checkups, and x-rays, so it's just barely worth it in the long run.

There... Edited for conciseness.

Believe me. working in the medical field, I can assure you insurance for most things is indeed a scam. But so is hospital billing. S'all I'm gonna say about it.

At least you have some insurance. I just started a new job 3 weeks ago, and I am not eligible for coverage for 3 months... Really doesn't help when I need a root canal, which is going to be ~$600+, not including the post and crown... My medical bills this year are putting me in the poor house.

You can say that again... the itemized bill I got was a joke. $15k for "Misc. supplies"

Come on over to my place. I've got some power tools, and I'll only charge you $300. That's a 50% savings!!!
