You can't stop the signal. . .

At one point in a SciFy series that's really cool but Fox canceled it because they're stupid. . . Anyway, at one point a bad guy is using a directed-energy weapon, (the only one seen in the series, despite it's futuristic setting.) and suddenly it stops firing and begins to beep rapidly. A screen on the side says "CHECK BATTERY."

Ha ha ha!

I have seen several good shows cancelled, and way too many bad ones go on and on and on....

Ugh. Headache, nausea, shakes..... Note to self: when you drain the brake line, get RID of the pan of brake fluid BEFORE you start work. Bleargh. I'm inside, recuperating, and having a late lunch. Then it's back out under the truck again. The calipers stick, so we're changing them for new ones. The poor new rotors are brown and blue in places along the edges.

Glad those trees were there. Redwood? Must be west coast. Also glad he had a 'chute. Whew!

He posted it as a wingover-- it looks almost like a botched loop. Either way, glad it went OK.

I didn't know break fluid was toxic. . . Good to know.

You'd think it would just be hydraulic oil. Evidently, it's something more volatile.

I read the bottle and it said absolutely nothing about fumes. Between a friend and me, we think that I'm particularly sensitive- like an allergy. I wouldn't be surprised. I'm already sensitive to epoxy after hardly ever using it, as well as a couple oddball chemicals. It got so bad yesterday that when Dory was tying up the bag of soaked paper towels the bag "exhaled" as he squished it- as I walked by- and I turned green instantly. I had to stop for a long break a couple times, and started relocating the kitty pan when not actively draining something. Bleargh! I still cringe at the memory-- sickly, awful sweet smell, with a huge hint of rubber and something indescribable. Like concentrated, burned and rotten antifreeze.

Funny thing: I'm not yet (or wasn't when I was last working with it 7 years ago) sensitized to photo developer- it's just as bad as epoxy in the allergy department.

And ping-pong is evidently an Olympic sport. The world is weird.
