Oh, and I need 1 3" x 1/8" x 48" sheet of balsa, and 1 4" x 3/16" x 36" balsa sheet, and (x2) 3/16"sq. basswood sub TE. I also need some balsa for the vertical stabalizer, but I dont think they sell anything bigger than 4" wide (needs to be at least 8" tall by 10" wide, balsa) Do you have any custom sheet balsa I can use that's to these dimensions?

Tell ya what... how 'bout I give ya a call when I'm at the store. I'll see what they have in stock and go from there.

I've never used ribbon spars in a plane, simply because I've never bought carbon ribbon. I've always used tubes 'cause they're cheap, and it takes no time to router out a circular slot for them. From a cost standpoint, it's also cheaper/easier to join the tubes in the middle with wood dowels sanded to the appropriate diameter, or short lengths of music wire.

If not, go ahead and buy another 4" x 3/16" x36" sheet of balsa, I'll probably just glue two sheets together...

Why dontcha get a shopping list put together while I hop in the shower and start running some errands. I'm planning on showing up at Salvador around 2pm-ish. I'll call you before that while I'm at the hobby shop.

ok...

Srtips are different from ribbon, strips are straight but they are flattened and almost have a "grain" running parralel with the strip. when you bury and glue them vertically into the foam, they become very strong because it's bending against the "grain". I'm not sure if a wood dowel is strong enough, which is why I mentioned another short length of carbon tube over the 2 wing spars. It would be easier if you just cut a short length from your own stash with an inside dia. of just over 1/4" and call/go to the store and fit them over the various tubes and see which fits the most snug.

ok, here it goes...

(x1) Midwest carbon fiber OD .210" x 40"

(x2) Midwest carbon fiber OD .210" x 24"

(x1) carbon tube with inner dia. just a hair over .210" , cut to approx. 6" long

(x2) Balsa sheet 3/16" x 4" x 36"

(x2) 3/16" sq. basswood TE 24"

(x1) Balsa sheet 1/8" x 4" x 36"

Whew! . Kind of a big list...forget about that discount ...nah just kidding...

Oh, and I wouldnt use 82mg's on the monarch (too heavy, I know you ...), instead I'd try the 65's. The best AUW is 12-14oz (mines at 12 exactly ) Unless you want her a little porky, then I guess you can use the 82's. Bring whatever carbon you've got just in case...
