Yes you are correct. In my files I abbreviate it as ''MA (England) I wasn't careful enough when I posted it. Thanks for the correction.

Great work Roger. Thanks! I see that I made some typo's on my submission. I will have to be more careful about that.

I flew a Vampie way back in '73. Had a Cox Babe-Bee and at my altitude of 2.650 masl it was absolutely fantastic!!! Extremely fast, stable and, believe me UNBREAKABLE . Several spiral dives when trimming with no damage at all!!!

Wonder how many realise what amount of work went into Rogers "Vampie" post #13886

Why is article PDF so large though?

Regards Ian.

Dick Everitt PINE NEEDLE 1943 gas model article scan

Hi Everyone-

This is Dick Everitts PINE NEEDLE O&R .23 1943 Gas Model scanned from my original issue of the Feb 1943 Model Airplane News.

WW2 restrictions made balsa scarce so other softwoods and hardwoods were substituted as the war went on in models such as this one.

Looks like it would be a good flier built with any wood today for freeflight or RC.

Sometime I'll build one for electric RC...

Best Regards,

Jeff
