Let's not forget that ever-so-simple Flying Aces Stick...!

Dear Fellow Old-Timer Lovers:

The PIPE Here again - and since I've saved that PDF file on building a Flying Aces Stick, directly based on the model construction article from way back in the September 1936 issue of Flying Aces magazine, I've uploaded the PDF file I saved off the 'Net, here to RCGroups for everyone to see and share.

I'm eventually going to re-build mine (when I can GET BACK TO WORK in time), which was first built almost 30 years ago, for strictly RC Electric flying, with a brushless motor and ESC, for A123 LiFePO4 lithium cell pack power.

OK, "here it is". along with a photo of what one looks like, built as a fully authentic Brown Junior (I think) powered FF version, as the original article shows how to do.

Enjoy... !!!

Yours Sincerely,

The PIPE....!!

Plan

Attached is a 1939 Kiwi design by Reg Truman. This model won an early Texaco event in New Zealand. The model was never actually given a name and was known as the R Truman Special. Some pictures from modellers who have built this model. Heard it's a little tricky to trim but is a floater. Allen

Super Quaker

Forgot to ask - there was an earlier post asking about the above plan. Does anyone have this one? Want to build the 105inch Quaker at some time. Allen

Crazy, not stupid
Is there any chance of a Mustang P-51 in this thread? It's a WWII classic after all
Scale is nice but relatively simple to build is even better.

Converting some of the Stinson plans I found here for building it with 3 & 6 mm depron..

Allen, you may have missed my earlier question. Do you have a plan for the earlier Truman RC1???

Rc-1

Hi Allan,

No, there was no plan for the larger 2.8metre RC-1. After Reg died last year, I was able view all plans he had. All there was re RC-1 was a hand drawn plan of the tail plane. When I was faced with building a new fuselage/tail, I had to scale up the Top Hat plan which was an acurate 40% reduction.

I inherited Reg's last model that he designed and built - photo attached. Got to see him test fly it and from memory, I think that was the last model he flew. To answer any questions in advance, no there is no plan of this one either! The covering is in need of attention but structurely everything is sound. It also is around 2.5m single piece wing.
