New cam for night flying from readymaderc.com

I got this camera from Tim at readymaderc.com http://readymaderc.com/store/index.p...roducts_id=202
RMRC-LL600 Low Light 600 Line BW CCD Camera (NTSC)
I have been in the air with it yet because for the wind "Story of my life"
Looks to be a good night cam, from what i have seen.
Has anyone tried this camera??

Are not most B/W cameras better in the dark?

I guess I'm just wondering....

Why buy this (somewhat expensive) cam when there are (probably) many cheaper B/W camera's that would (maybe) work as good?

I understand paying a premium for a color cam that works well at night....

They are but some to make them see better they slow the shutter down. Which is not what we want when moving quickly. Good for cars but not planes.

I was thinking on buying a wind generator to power the house and then the wind will never blow again..

Cool, it just looks like a deeply overcast day until you see that cars have their headlights on and you can see the light from their headlights on the road.

It must look fantastic on a starry night!

Dunno if I'm impressed enough to buy one, but it is an interesting camera.

I guess that really low light level cams are good for surveillance. Things will probably only get better in this area.

Any day now we will get multi-spectral cameras that see from infra red into UV and do so at light levels where we can't see. At that point I'd rather have a camera and screen or goggles than a flashlight!

I would actually enjoy night flights more than day flights, but that's just me.

Can't wait for the test video G-unit.

Cheers, kev.
