What surgery?!!!
I go & get pneumonia & visit the hospital for a few days & you have the audacity to go get cut on????
Not good stuff!
I guess i'll go back a few pages & catch up on whats been going on.
Don't give them too much grief & they'll send you a thank you card when you get home!

I'm looking for some twisty canyon/mountian type flying. I've been up & down the Grand Canyon. Anyone have any challenging locations &/or approaches the might have?

Thanx

My favorite is a cub (or similar) Take off from Corntassel 07TN, Vonore, Tenn. and fly upriver (East) along Tellico lake to Bryson City, NC Sossamon Field 57NC.
I think there are three dams to watch for, the last being the tallest in a narrow part of the canyon after a hard left.....Whoops! There it is!
Also watch for bridges and high tension towers in the canyon!
I try to stay around 30' 40' above water.
Have fun!
Mike.

I usually fly it with real time weather, makes for some interesting flying in something light & slow!
After the last dam it's fairly open & flat across the lake to Bryson city, gives you a chance to calm down for landing!
I like to do it in the 172 with flaps to slow me down, (the gps don't hurt either).

I crank up the wx too. Had a flight in a Dragon Rapide in the mountains somewhere with a healthy snow storm.

I blame it in old movies like "Only Angels Have Wings",
& Hollywood pilots Mantz & Tallman.
