What Battery are You Using in Your Tiger Moth?

Theres a great Tiger Moth thread by Basketcase about his Red/White TM started back last fall. Some discussion there on batteries but it seems that battery tech has advanced quite a bit in the past few months.

So......

What battery do you use in your stock motored (IPS) Tiger Moth, and why?

PS I give big bonus points for high "bang for the buck solutions"

Etec 1200 or Kokam 1020 2S for the long flight times.

Qualcomm 830s. Got them last year, real cheap. Excellent "bang for the buck" solution!

7.2v 1020mah LIPO from www.b-p-p.com. 40 minute flight times. Kind of hard to beat. I bought two, one for my TM and the other flies my Jenny.

I second Foamflyers suggestion.

I used to be one of the most hard core NiMH fans here. And still was after trying the QualComm Li Ions.

But, after using the Kokam 1020's and ETec 1200's for a few months I'm beginning to get converted. Better power than the QC's, almost as much as the 7 cell 2/3AAA's. And the duration is outrageous. One Kokam pack cost as much as two NiMH packs and lasts for three times as long. And the lighter weight always helps.

I use Etec 1200s or kokam 560s. The 560s are really light and good for 20 minutes.

Etec 1200 2 cells with Dual Ips. Combination works so well I use it on my Cub and T-Ifo. Plenty of power and run times that way exceed my attention span.

I still use the QC's after over a year. I have 10 packs and get almost 1/2 hour per pack. That's 10 hours flying time for about $2.50 per pack. I'll use 'em till they die.
