I just thought the Thickness off the zip tie might interfere with the canopy cross support, but I guess the canopy dosent have a piece there..

I hear ya!! Airflow is key... In my experience interference is a strange thing.. I did notice that there's a interference ring on those wires, which leads Me to believe there could be a problem? I try to stay away from Carbon fiber with wires when ever possible...

Again, very clean work! It looks great..

I've got my BEC on the cross member over the wingtube too. It works great. There is no problem with CF and a BEC IMO. CF and an RX yes but not the BEC.

Though I am not quit done with the assembly yet, I weighed everything and AUW came to 9.26lbs. My goal was 9.5lbs or less and I should get that. I have to put a deans on the BEC yet and glue the aileron hinges, that is all, so I am guessing once it is done, AUW should be around 9.4lbs. I am flying on 6s5000mah, A50-15s, hitec servos, BEC pro, and a CC 85HV.

Here is a spread sheet that might help you. I documented all the part weights before I began assembling. Some of the electronic weights are after connectors and wire trimming. Maybe this might be some help to you when trying to trim weight where you can.

I show pics of mounting that exact motor in the first post with all the build info, including standoff length. Check it out: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/atta...mentid=3312983

Although from experience the APC props flex a lot and I might go with slightly longer standoffs to keep them rubbing the cowl in KE spins.

I have started ordering some gear for my build and would like to know what size prop I should use on a Scorpion S-4035-380KV running 5000mAh 6S 30C batteries.

Also can you suggest any alternatives to the Hitec HS985mg servo's for the ailerons and rudder. I would like to stay analog if possible.

Thanks
Pete
