The micro on throttle has held up great so far. It's the Hitec 5087, metal gear, high voltage. 60 oz torque at .13 sec. I think the key to making a throttle servo live is to back the endpoints down a few degrees to make sure it never binds at either end of the throttle travel.
5087 great servo, i know

I run them in my 51 Slick. It does not have a lot of flights on it though as it is the old Fantasy Blue/Crimson Bovine scheme and it is not replaceable.

Yes, I used the DLE stand-offs. The spinner gap is a little larger than I like but it's not that bad at all due to the open design of the cowl. Besides, any shorter and the muffler would hit the motor box. I will be home Wednesday night, if you need any more pictures of the setup I would be glad to get them for you then.
Did u have to hack the motorbox? Or did it fit alright? Cant tell from pics. I'd be interested is os gt22 would fit.

Nevermind, saw the earlier post about the change. There's bound to be confusion when they post this on their web page, The airframe can handle electric or Gas setup. If the gas engine has a side mount carb, simply bolt it on. If the engine is rear mount carb, then a clearance hole would need to be opened in the firewall. And that's it!

I use 6s 3300s in my 60'' planes and i was looking for something i could double up those packs with.
Joe, you can use a parallel Deans adapter to put two 6S 3300's together for this plane. You can get the parallel adapters from a lot of place like Tower, Kintec Racing, Esprit Model...

As you know, I was going to use two of the 60 EXP batteries in series for a 12S setup with a 215Kv motor but I decided to do another 78 instead on 10S. The 6S 6600 will be the same weight as I expected for the 12S 3300, which is 10.6 pounds.

The Hacker A60-6XS V2 is the 6S motor I'd recommend, or a Motrolfly with an equivalent Kv... but I know the 28 pole 6XS can swing a 20x10 to 2300W and a Falcon 21x10 to over 2500W, which would be really sweet on this plane.

I can send you some links on similar size planes with the power setup if you're interested.

Jim,
i'm definitely interested in seeing this setup in action. Sounds awesome and i have a couple 6s 3300s and will be getting a few more when i get the 60'' Laser. Sounds a little heavy compared to the 9.5 pounds that people are coming in at but usually i don't mind a bit of extra weight on my planes.

Thanks,
Joe.

Few more. You can see the spinner gap with the standard DLE standoffs.
Also notice I flipped the carb 180 degrees to make the throttle linkage install cleaner.

Here is where I mounted the Tech Aero and its LED. It shines really bright through the canopy, easy to see even during flight.

Thanks,
It's a FrSky 8 channel receiver, I'm using a Futaba 8FGS transmitter.
The servo arms are 1.5 on elevator and aileron, 3 inch double on rudder.
Yes, the lipo is from Hobby King, and so is the spinner. 3" carbon fiber.
The gas tank is a 330 ml Fiji water bottle with plastic bulkhead fittings.
