Don't worry Greg...
Alain wants a yellow one too!

One more yellow one and your white one is next!
Ask Thepasty...
Better to wait a while...
He learns slowly!
(or you'll get a flying pig)

I must say, for myself, I quite liked ZAlly1's portly flying nature!

Epoxy and micro balloons won't effect the foam...
Polyester resin may...
Unless it's just our foam (Isoboard) that's fine??
It is a bit heavier!

I should never have used such a slow curing epoxy!
It's gonna take forever to stiffen up!

Well spotted with the 3amp sign there Sean!
I'll have to see what we can do!

It's bagged!!!

Mylars painted yesterday, finished today.

Glass cut.

Bag tested.

Epoxy mixed. (Ran out, 3/4 of the way through )

Packers won.

In the BAG!

I don't have a nice weight belt like Johann, so I had to improvise....

See if I can sleep tonight... thinking about vacuum...

Yeah... I'm a newbie, not an idiot!! I just wanted to see what kind of response I'd get.

All that weight right where you dont want it

I had to put a couple strips of tape on the TE of mine to hold the fin better, one gram at the back meant 5-6g's up the nose to compensate.... it all adds up.

Great point, Steve. I'd better watch how I attach the fin as well - I was planning on Gooping it on, but that stuff's pretty heavy.. What do you use for attaching the fin, CA?

hmmm thats somewhere it defo needs the strength, I'd still goop it, altho I use UHU POR contact adhesive as its foam safe yet still sticks like shite to a blanket.

I'm all about performace and not how it looks or driven by making it super strong, if you want to go light you need to cut back on anything and everything thats behind the cofg.

I have a heavy (400g) and light Sally (200g), the light version is better in every way... but then I'm more into aerobatics than lead sleds.

I would use epoxy mixed into a thick paste with micro-balloons!
But then, I'm the wrong one to ask!
I add weight automatically!

I've got my hands full at the moment!
All the Zally's and...
A Zipper..
Bagged wings and lots of spray painting!
It's actually Steve's fault, all these wings...
I'm also trying to repair a very badly damaged 3m F3B plane called a...
Tokolosh!
(known to the local indigenous population as...
A witch )
I have the baby one too,
known simply as a TOKO...
Must be in my nature,
But I like them!!

Sooo ...
I promised Sean...
He can unravel his wing!
I lied!
She's out the bag!

Best finish so far!
She still needs to be trimmed, but it looks great!
Bit of work on the leading edge as the Mylar could not "bend" to the radius.
But, there is plenty of meat down there!
I can sand it round...
I used peel ply around the edges..
Comes free easily and leaves a well shaped open edge!
The compressor obviously worked well!

Looks great Johan and I quote "It's a charming hands-on, handcrafted-type operation" this is how Beyers Truter described the cellar were the Bouwland wines are bottled.

the wing also looks good
