A "Sunday Flier" to me is a plane I can enjoy flying. I enjoy flying most of my planes anyways. If I were to pick one it'd have to be my old Sig Rascal 40, of which met an untimely death due to rx battery being too low

It was such pure joy to fly. So much so that I didn't mind carrying it 1/2 mile fully assembled to fly it at my "home field" just to get a couple 8 minute flights.

It's funny that one-handed flying should come up. I built a horrendously overpowered 20" PBF that would crank up to 50+mph AND do crazy aerobatics (even at that speed. I know, right?) but then, owing to its low wing loading, drop to a crawl and just float around. I could fly alost a whole pack (minus take-off and landing with only rudder control, no dihedral needed. Fun plane Died gracefully, too, from the slow, gradual wear that accumulates on (my) foamies.

I recently built a new combat-style wing from insulation foam. It's the same deal except it's faster and won't slow down as well. I can just sit back and let it zip around the field with my thumb on the right stick and a cold Pepsi in my left hand. 15 minutes on a 2100mAh pack....

Then there's the Slow Stick. I'm seriously contemplating moving my rudder to the aileron stick so I can go one-handed with it (haven't added ailerons yet). Throttle is almost optional on that one. 1/4 throttle is all it needs to climb fast

Absolutely, any R/E plane should be flown on the right stick.

Exactly as 1320 said. Technically, it's not supposed to be throttle/rudder on left stick and elevator/ailerons on right.

It's SUPPOSED to be throttle/YAW on left stick and ROLL/PITCH on right stick. In mode 2, of course.

Basically, it's the function assigned to each stick travel, not the control surface.

Really, now? It's always seemed like it makes more sense to do it the way I have it on the Slow Stick because 'roll' is a very loose term when applied to the way this plane turns. I suppose it could be seen like that though...

I guess it does make sense though Heck, the pros are now outweighing the cons... Looks like I'm in

Wasn't related but had to share it. Personally the old Astro Hog is a classic I enjoy on Sundays. My Sundays are usually Tuesdays though, I like to fly with a smaller crowd, helps me relax even more.
