Yep...waste of time, unless your going to add a servo to steer it.

Steering

Hello everyone, I am not so good at flying (just started). This plane looks nice for the $$$... I am not sure about one thing. How do you steer it? I have Hobbyking 2.4ghz 4ch radio, can I steer it with this radio. The problem is aileron and elevator can not figure out how to use elevator, because two servos are connected aileron-like...

Thank you.

You'll either need a radio that'll do taileron mixing or buy a separate mixing unit. HK do them for a few $s.

Hi Bearpaw

Yes, like that one, but another brand, this one has much better
resolution. : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...o_V-Tail_Mixer

I have tryed both, and the BA is much better than the Turnigy.

Best regards

Kai

Maybe this plane is not so good for someone who just started?

Anyway, there is now a foam-only version available (while stock lasts): http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=12852

If I'll buy the airframe only, any recommendations for a motor?

HK have a lot of 2030 (also listed 20-30) size and 55/64 EDF outrunners available. I'm going to place an order for a few motors this weekend, not sure what though. I'm leaning towards the higher kv ones.

Let us know what you decide.

What kind of motor are you looking for? More thrust or more efficient?

I really like the looks of this airplane but doesn't $65 PNP seem a bit cheap? An other thoughts?

It is cheap, but that is what Hobbyking is known for and that is why so many people buy there.

Read the posts in the thread MegaTesla linked to in this post: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...14&postcount=2 and you will see it's well worth the money.
