How do we make accurate motor mounting holes

Simpleton question of the day: I've gotten several kits or arfs with the motor mount installed or included. There may be a center hole for the motor shaft and/or bearing holder, but how do you know where to drill the bolt holes to mount the motor ? Some kind of template would be really nice.

Make your own, print it, glue it on. I use a touch of 3M 77 or similar to hold it in place while I drill. I made templates for all my motors in 5 minutes using Powerpoint!

Or you could......

Transfer them directly to the mount by using a lead pencil (lipstick works too) rubbed over the case. Show and tell! -thumbs

You could download and print out the generic motor mount template page from my website. It's directly below the thumbnail pictures.
