Hello Dave

What plane were you using in Waikerie? Would you mind sharing some more details and stories from back then?

I am glad to see that so many pilots from the early F3B days reply to this thread.

Please check also this thread, many nice stories and pictures about F3B worlds are collected there:

@US F3B team & Co: it is about time to get the world record back to the states, go Gator and go Cal Valley!

Hi Jody

Yes off course, thanks for reminding me. And the 13.95s as well.

It is about time to bring the World record back to the US and it is looking good.

I remember that run because I independently timed some of the runs with my stopwatch just for fun. I got 13.41, which was amazingly close to the official time of 13.39.

Hi Gents

I am a bit out of the loop updating the list, so if someone has more results, please post.

There were two notable 12.xxs runs this year, one by Hansi Gölz with the Target and Daniale Amici (who dominated the Oktoberfestpokal, the biggest F3B contest of the world) with the Freestyler.

Sorted by time:

12.68s, Pasi Väisänen, Radical, June 2008, Sweden

12.72s, Gavin Botha, SP1, April 13 2003, Eloy, USA

12.73s, Hans Peter Gölz , Target, July 2011, Winterthur, Switzerland

12.82s, Daniele Amici, Freestyler 3, September 2011, Munich, Germany

12.93s, Martin Weberschock, Radical, April 2008, Kirchheim, Germany

12.96s, Tim Kullack, Radical February 2011, Perth, Australia

.
.
.

complete list and updated plane list in the first post of this thread.

Merry Xmas and go fast in 2012!
Best,
Reto

Nice flying John! That is impressive winning each round. Not a bad average speed either!

Three pilots break into 13's at the Gator

So at the Gator on March 3rd in Round 4 Tom Kiesling flew a 13.34 with a Fosa and Mike Lachowski with a Shooter a 13.92.
In Round 6 David Klein flew his Freestyler to a 13.53.
Great flying and clearly with a clean, tight run we have good enough air in Florida for a W/R .... maybe next time at Gator 2013.

Hi Gordon
I will update the list. Mike flew a Shooter though. If Dave would not have flown long or cut in some killer air, he would have got the WR. It was great flying though.

News today from OZ - Jeroen Smits from Netherlands went 12.6 with a Bodis Fosa. Not yet sure if it's a 12.60 or what just yet. Sounds like ya'll got some fast air down there....
