Hi Laurent

Thanks, corrected it in the 3 lists (Radical-1 Shooter +1 and looking good for the Freestylers ).

Wow, there were three 13.xs speed runs at the Eurotour in Lünen.

List updated.

Shooter passed now Radical (#of sub 14s runs) and Hurricane V and Tool2010 made it into the list

Craig Goodrum did 13.25 the past weekend at the SA Nats with his Ceres!
Michelle did an un-official 13.66!

Super cool Gert!

Congrats to Craig and Michelle!

I added Craig, I assume Michelle's run was in practice.

Can you indicate the flying field?

Rudolf Schaub (Team member 1999) always tells me how crazy the lift in South Africa is!

Reto,

Some earlier WC best speeds for you. They were picked off un-sorted lists from a mixture of official results and daily news bulletins, so if I missed a faster time, apologies in advance.

1995 14.83 Denis Duchesne <Ellipse ( 1 or 2 ? )> Romania
1993 15.62 Nic Wright <Electra EV-1> Israel
1991 16.3 Joakim Stahl <?> Holland
1989 17.5 Rienhard Liese <Epsilon> France

It would be interesting to know the best times from even earlier WC's ?? The 'old' winch rules applied up to and including 1987.

Cheers,

Nic

Wow.. off-topic, but.... Nic, you were partly responsible for getting me hooked on r/c soaring after seeing a fantastic talk and demo you gave at the Trent Club in Nottingham about 20 years ago (I was only in my mid-teens at the time).

Great to see you on RCGroups!

Hi Nic
Great to have you on rcgroups and thanks for the information!
My older flying buddies keep telling me about your excellent flying skills.

I would be pleased to learn more about your Electra.
If you have information about Electra and F3B in the 80ies-90ies, please add some here:

@Steve: will add the 2008 flight (where was it flown?). I wanted to make the cut at 14s speed run (as there are so many 14.xx runs nowadays). The list would grow out of bounds. But I make an exception for historic flights (pre 2000).

This is a 'blast from the past' but I was one of the people who got to witness your 15.62 run at the WC in Isreal and what I remember (and that got people talking) was the way you flew your final A-B leg about one meter off the ground (below the wind and haulin' a$$) and then popped up for an F3F style turn bouncing off the headwind at B to again get right on the deck for a fast finish. Everybody's face looked like Awesome!

Although, I think I was more impressed with the inverted/outside speed run on one of the practice days -- not so much to the delight of your TM at the time (Stu Blanchard) as I recall.

Great to see you and Steve on RC Groups, Nic!

Steve, The quality isn't great but it was 17 years ago ( what a good memory you have ! ). Chatter, blasphemy and expletives are courtesy of Steve Macken. Nice to hear from you and thanks for the kind comments, Nic
