Well I did my first ever FPV flight today!! It was with the easyglider pro, just one flight 20mins long with a FPV landing. It was great but I'm looking to improve my picture. I'm using a KX131 from bevrc, since the flight I have adjusted the focus so will try again tomorrow to see if its any better. Also I need a microphone any recommendations?

In the UK to fly legally you can only use a 10mw transmitter so they are all out

If you were to ignore this then out of all them i`d say this one : http://www.securitycamera2000.com/pr...00mw-12CH.html

But of course you can use 2.4ghz radio gear with it.

But really i`d steer clear of these type of products and look at purpose built FPV transmitters and recievers

Camera wise try this one :

520 tvl, well made and just look at the price

It all depends on many variables though

i do use 2.4 futaba so even this is no good, i live in quite a rural area is anyone using 900mhz or 1.3 in the uk, might switch back to 35mhz

900 mhz is our mobile phone band so thats ruled out, your limited to 1.3ghz, 2.4ghz or 5.8ghz

I'm testing a couple of 5.8GHz FPV setups, one I made myself and a commercial one.
Multipath reflections are quite bad on either setup using vertically polarised antennas at both ends and I now 'see' why so many discount 5.8GHz for FPV, however I have an idea to overcome this - building & testing begins later today...
For video signal quality, my homebrewed setup is easily the equal of the commercial setup and at 25% of the cost.

Using 5.8GHz for video does not seem to interfere with 2.4GHz R/C contol (limited range testing thus far) as I had a 500mW 5.8GHz VTx within a couple of inches of the 2.4GHz R/C Rx on an R/C car.

For FPV flight, I'd use 35MHz for R/C control.

I have posted my idea on here and in other forums, only for most others to pooh-pooh it as not do-able/feasible/easily achieved.

The only real way to combat multi-path reflections is by using circular polarisation (CP) on both the VTx and of course, of the same handing, on the VRx.

I still believe there is a workable solution, but only realistically at 2.4 and possibly better at 5.8 gigglyhurts, hence my drive to build a 5.8 gig setup for testing.
If I blow the PA on my homebrew setup, it will cost less than 15 beer tokens to install another complete Tx module.

Nigel.
