I've done some googling, direct video in is, as of yet, not possible,

I have figured out a way to feed video into an iPad/iPhone. But it's a concept with little research. Basically. Get an IP Cam (wireless) that you can fiddle with and is iPad/iPhone compatable (quite a few are). Rip off the camera part and see if its possible to just hook up a video feed into the IP Cameras board. Eurika! All this of course hinges on being able to rig an IP Cam to instead have a video in socket as opposed to a camera. But it's a thought .

Great theory but i see 3 issues
1) Cost, will be way more than a HD recording device and monitor after you buy a router too to create the network for it to run on
2) Portability, not impossible to set up at the field, but will be a massive hassle and for from convenient.
3) Still no local High quality recording. The app with the IP cams are very restricted, any only a couple offer recording, maybe 1 with local recording (i.e to IOS device) and then it's VERY low quality

I'm still thinking of ways to do it though! I may start developing.....

Fixed wings can be Drones too!

It can't be done. I don't even think there is a jailbreak app that will do it let alone 'as apple intended'.

Or you could by a CCTV to IP converter: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wirel...276727851.html

lot easy to feed the video as normal from planet to rx to a laptop with easycap, then stream the video from the laptop using some cctv security software like blue iris onto the web, then simply access the video using any phones built in web browser.

I didn't say it would be easy, or cost effective :P. doesn't the AR drone feed live (fairly good quality) video to an iPhone/iPad through a direct wifi link (or Bluetooth, I'm not sure which) well you'd need to make a little box that took video in, sent it over in a similar fashion, and then have an app (preferably with a recording function) to receive the video.
