I've not had that happen. None of mine have been up on a day when it's been quite that windy.

Quick update on the 2 speed projects.
The engine failed on the Jet during a test run, so had to be sent in for service. What's the worst thing that could happen? Yes, it was lost in the post... Had quite a case of depression thinking it was lost and realising I couldn't justify/ afford another one, so the plane and drop drone would have all been redundant too.. However after 6 weeks it was found, and the engine builder has it now! The sense of relief was huge!! A lot has gone wrong on that project and that really would have been a knife in the balls. The 14s electric project is fully ready for a fly again after the last meltdown. A bit less power/rpm this time, down from 1080kv to 860kv, about 8kw instead of 9kw. Still a lot of power and should see 470kmh+ all being well... and get the record back for the UK from the American guy who did 440kmh. Really nice 7x14 prop and a steel 8mm to m12 prop adapter (drilled and turned to make it lighter) with a titanium lock nut. Hopefully wont have any problems in this area. Just waiting on the weather now, it's a bit windy at the moment for the drop drone. Will post up results when I've done it, let's hope it doesn't blow a prop blade or melt down this time! |

20% off at hobby king until Monday.
I was going to treat myself to an ASW28 kit (next year's project) but the box is classed as a "bulky item" and there is no shipping option for that from the EU warehouse. On the plus side, It stopped me spending money |

Yep..
Due to their lack of ability to ship a bulky item more than 25 miles over water I can't get a whole plane. I've lots of spares for my Tundras in my shopping cart for a week (EU). This morning I received another begging email reminding me to click the buy now button. I get that trading has been difficult over the past 18 months and Brexit has been a train crash for trade with the EU, but restocking the UK warehouse and then closing it the next month is totally stupid. So even with the 20% off I've now emptied my cart in protest because I should be able to buy a whole aircraft. once my last Tundra hits the deck that's it. No more Hobby King. On the plus side: I can get a Multiplex Fun cub NG kit for £122 with free delivery in the UK. Being a Multiplex kit you just know that it's going to be better in every way |
