What a great laugh!! Fisherman and RC flyer!! I just busted up laughing over the video. Nice job Jin. Champ is definently a better flyer on floats than the J-3. Would you make floats for people if they wish to purchase them from you?

I installed the GWS 5043 prop tonight and test flew in high winds with hyperion 160 and it worked great. Next mod is the UMP51 mustang motor for even more speed/power.

GWS prop and hyperion batteries are a must!

I picked up one of these Champs and had to install Tundra Tires (dubro #150mw) and Struts (.050 CF rod)

sorry the first pic kinda sux, I have a size comparison between the 1.5 inch mini-light wheels/tires and the stock wheels/tires.

Can you say, motor upgrade coming?!

I have a long list of upgrades planned

That is a sweet looking setup!

I have thought about doing the same thing, but love its stock docile nature to train my 10 y/o daughter with. What motor is in the champ stock?
I haven't done anything but pop batteries in it and fly so far, if adding the tundras requires an upgrade I wonder if the um p-51 motor is going to be the ticket?

I've thought about taking it brushless etc etc, but then again it flies great so far stock, maybe once my daughter has learned or burned out I can tear into doing some mods..
Tundra's in my area would increase my usable runway area about 15000% lol..

How does she fly with the Tundras on it and the stock motor? Is she a bit under powered?

The Champ has the Sukhoi motor. A Mustang motor is a great upgrade. If those Wheels are heavy, replace the centers with depron and they shouldn't weigh more than .5g than the stock wheels for the pair...unless they get wet.

Sukhoi or Sukhoi XP motor? Correct me if I'm mistaken here as well, but I thought the Sukhoi XP and Mustang motors were basically the same?
