For that temperature, that's very good flight time. What battery are you using?

RD

PS: At our recent indoor event, I got 24 minutes before LVC, but that was cheating......low throttle most of the time to keep the Champ from overflying the inside of the building. It's quick when it wants to be!

One of the few good Hyperion 160's from my order of 6. I have a foam cover over the battery compartment.. Started with a nice and warm battery..

So, of course the stupid mod bug bit me last night at about 1am......

I ordered a P51 motor and tranny, 2 5030 props, 2 5043 props, adapters and a I started playing around with my 120SR batteries in it. (E-Flite 500Mah).

Sigh, mod addiction costs money.........but it sure is fun. Hehe.

Wait, I just reread your post......Brushless?? Damn, here goes more money, LOL.
this setup might rip your wings off

^^ What are the pods and how are they mounted? CF or shipping take would be enuff to strengthen them.

Looks like we may have a new(er) battery supplier :

home site : http://www.teamorion-avionics.com (you won't see 1s on this link but it's in the catalogue up top - interesting mAh combinations as well - some have the heli connectors, but of course that easily modified.

Curious about that statement Bob...are you saying that some of the Hyperions from your order were sub par?

Yesterday saw 20F temps but bright sun and DEAD CALM so out came the Champ! Ran 6 packs through it with completely normal flight times. This was my first time out with foam blankets (warm batteries from my pocket quickly rolled up in very thin foam packing sheet, then secured in the battery tray with 3/4" blue painters tape). One end of the blue tape is doubled over to provide a release tab; transparent tape on the fuse to protect from blue tape paint peel. This is a quick, simple set up for cold WX 1S flying. Very satisfactory results.

Another first for me was hand catches to keep her out of the deep fluffy snow we had dumped on us over Christmas. It was easy!

Two of the six would not charge as voltage was to low. I checked them, and they were around 1 volt.. Not a good sign at 9 bucks apiece..
