SM100-45 EDF unit test run

Here's a quick test run of the soon to be released SM100-45 EDF unit. It's 100mm diameter and designed for up to about 5kW or so. This test unit is fitted with a Neu 1521-1.5Y, ICE HV160 esc and 12S XPS 5000's. Looks like a killer setup to me.

Stu.

Nice Stu, can you get RPM as well, would be nice to know what its spinning to produce various thrust levels, maybe an rpm snapshot at 3kg, 4kg, 5kg, 6kg etc thrust?

Foe some reason if i have to download a video i can't view it. I just get a screen full of symbols. But nice info on the 100mm Stu. I would probably run it around 3500 watts.

Hello Stu,

I found an ideal candidate for the 90 mm but is a kit and its made of balsa but the weight is 2000g. If you need a bigger rotor I know where we can find one the only drawback is that most of the weight from 150-200 tons. LMAO!!!

Good luck with the project!!

Looks like a high pressure turbine. Is it for conventional or nuclear?

Its a HP rotor for a steam turbine located in Arizona. We cut the thrust bearings and installed and machined new seals.
