A commercial use for RC heli's - Getting paid to fly the lucky people!

Something i found in my local paper http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/video/vid...archive_page=0

They are using a heli to inspect power lines with FPV installed. Very interesting, but don't go into much detail about the heli but 20,000gbp to get it working?!? I could have done that for them for 1,000!

Take a look anyway, it's still quite interesting and let me know what you think!

While still steep, 20k gbp includes the price for training the employees. Their FPV camera doesn't look very good either based on the shot they showed.

I know, but i'm saying i could do it for 1000gbp cos they don't need to train me, i can fly already! Just give me a guy who knows what he's looking for in the power lines (they have them ready and trained already) and i'd be good to go!

Interesting, there was a copper went down last month near where i work and killed the pilot doing line inspections.

I saw a few of them when watching a documentry and thought why don't they use RC. But they were mainly jet washing the pylons etc.
