Just wanted to thank the folks at Horizon Hobby
I posted in the SC thread about problems I've been having with my SC. After the first flawless flights, it decided it likes to turn hard right and crash into the ground.
It has happened the last three times out, even after I replaced the rudder servo. I decided it was time to contact HH and see if they had any suggestions. I just got off the phone with them and they are sending out a complete new fuse with electronics He told me it was probably the rx/esc, but replacing all the electronics would eliminate all possibilities. Plus I would have a new fuse, because mine has been broken a couple times because of this issue. I can't wait to get her together and do some flyin. They were exceptional with my sons MSC too. His had problems from day one, and they replaced the whole plane. It has worked great ever since he got it. Its nice to see a company that really cares about their customers, and stands behind their products. So, thanks very much to the folks at Horizon Hobby. My 13 year old son and I truly appreciate it |

Glad you hear your in the boat with the rest of us. HH does take good care of their customers thats for sure. I have had nothing but good experiences when I have had to call them about problems or just with questions.
Please, do yourself a favor and rip those little ACT sensors off your plane. That feature causes nothing but trouble in my book. I hope this gets your plane all sorted out. Im looking forward to possibly seeing it fly one of these days. But if you cant get yours over here I have a couple you can fly. |

After seeing the trouble the ACT was causing my son with his MSC, and reading all the stories on here about the ACT, I disabled it before I even tried my first flight. I figured the less things to malfunction the better. Vroom, hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to get over to the valley and we can hook up and do some flyin. Thanks for the offer on using one of your planes. Hopefully by next week I will have her back together and flying good. Then when I finally get my nerve up, I'll give my PZ J-3 a shot. I'm a little more nervous about that one, because I can't fix my mistakes with CA as easily. However, if I'm still not comfortable enough to fly the j-3 by the time we get together, I'll bring it too, and you can fly it. Its cool. I put a little taller tires on it, and attached a Dubro steerable tailwheel With the new complete fuse coming, and I have some spare parts laying around, I am thinking of putting together my first SC for my son to fly... He just amazes me when he is flying his MSC, and after flying my SC the first time out, he wants one really bad. So this may just work out good.. All I need to get is the tx/rx/esc in a channel other than two, so we can fly together I knew in the back off my mind that something was malfunctioning and causing the problems. Because the first time out, everything went flawlessly. It makes me feel better knowing that it wasn't me causing all the problems All I need to get is a tx,and an rx/esc in any channel except 2, so we can fly them at the same time... |

Keep an eye on Hobb-e-mart who sells on e-bay. He has a contract with Horizon Hobby to auction their factory returns and blems. If there is a deficiency, he lists it and shows it on the photos. If you get a plane that has a defect other than listed, he will make good on replacement parts. Sometimes you can get a really good deal. I bought three discounted planes from him in the past. http://cgi.ebay.com/Hobbyzone-Super-...item483ab67bd0

Ditto yay for Horizon Hobby.
From my start 2 1/2 yrs ago the products from their consortium and their tech support have been excellent. For a guy who can't pass the pilot medical anymore they have provided more minimum hassle RC flying fun than I ever imagined possible Icky |

Piper Cub Man,
+5 for HH support! I've had a couple of things go Tango Uniform in a short period of time, and my LHS owner changed it out for me, no problem. If the rest of the hobby had this kind of support, it would be huge! You can order up Rxs and Txs with whatever channel you want (within limits, of course, so that you don't interfere between the two planes.) I see some heavily modified SC's coming from your hangar within 2 or 3 months! Congratulations! |

Its great that you are really enjoying RC. It is a lot of fun... Its a good thing fixing them is fun too Quote:
They are a rarity these days.... I agree with doing the mods. Just gotta get this one to stay in the air first. I do like working on things, so it will be hard to leave it stock I feel better knowing it was the plane causing the problems and not me |
