Keep the transmitter. You'll never know when you'll need it. My Champ stock TX is currently bound to an old E-Flite mCX heli for banging around indoors. If I take the Champ on a road trip, I could use the stock TX instead of hauling along a big, expensive, radio. The TX also far more reliably stick-programs AR6400 bricks than my DX7 does.

Well alright...I guess I'll be keeping it.

Changing out the stock wheels was a lot easier/faster than I had thought it was going to be.

New Champ Owner -- well I guess I'll own it when it gets here . I saw a video on YouTube last night for a prop saver for the champ. For a newbie pilot is that a worthwhile investment or should I just stock up on props? Also should I just stick with stock props or are there others that work well?

I buries my prop into the ground probably 100 times and never broke a prop or bent a shaft.....the rudder/elevator are a different story though.....lol

Yeah, other than a little wear and tear on the tips of the prop from prop strikes on landings (not crashing), my prop has done fine.

I broke the prop on my citabria, and just kept CA'ing it back on, with an eyeball alignment job.
If I compare the prop to a new prop mine is ohh about 1/8" shorter on both blades from blade strikes on pavement from ROG.

Good news is I have way less blade strikes now!

I need/WANT a Champ so badly to replace the Citabria

On my old Citabria, my prop or propshaft never broke, but the whole motor/gearbox assembly kept coming loose from those "unplanned arrivals" that happened when you tend to do crazy stuff with these little planes...ya'll know what I'm talking about!

Did you say aerotowing with the Champ? You mean like this?

Hmmm...wonder who gave me this idea? Well, I decided to go out in the backyard to see what would happen. HobbyZone Champ RTF, about 10 feet of fishing line, and a little styrofoam glider. I tied a loop in one end and put it around the tailwheel on the Champ. Taped the other end to the glider. Set the glider on the grass and handlaunched the Champ. It flew away fine. The glider wagged back and forth a lot and flew inverted a lot of the time. Very fun!

Thanks to Drew for videoing for me on the second video!
